Arrive in Kathmandu & Dinner

Welcome to Nepal, Where the mountains whisper and the spirits soar! We’ll start our time in this exotic land by checking into our luxury hotel. After settling into your rooms, come mingle with your fellow OUTbounders for a welcome toast and family dinner. We’re staying just minutes from Durbar Square, so come and go as you please. Enjoy all that Kathmandu has to offer however you want!

02 - Kathmandu

Kathmandu & Patan

We'll begin our day with a guided tour of Kathmandu Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its exquisite palaces, temples, and bustling markets that embody Nepal’s rich cultural heritage. Next, we'll visit Swayambhunath, the famed Monkey Temple perched on a hill, where colorful prayer flags flutter against panoramic views and a serene spiritual ambiance captivates both Buddhists and Hindus alike. In the afternoon, we'll continue to the ancient city of Patan for a visit to Patan Durbar Square, another UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its remarkable Newar architecture, intricate temples, and royal palaces.

03 - Pashupatinath

Pashupatinath, Boudhanath & Bhaktapur

Today we'll visit Pashupatinath Temple, a revered Hindu pilgrimage site on the Bagmati River known for its intricate woodwork and sacred rituals. Then explore Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest stupas and a center of Tibetan Buddhism, surrounded by colorful prayer flags and monasteries. In the afternoon, you'll discover Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famed for its exquisite Newari architecture, ancient temples, and vibrant local markets. The nearby Bhaktapur Valley offers peaceful villages and scenic terraced fields, perfect for a tranquil stroll.

04 - Dhulikhel

Dhulikhel

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel before checking out and driving to Dhulikhel, a charming historic Newar hill-town located just 30 km southeast of Kathmandu along the ancient Araniko trade route. Perched at 1,550 meters, Dhulikhel offers stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Langtang, Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, and, on clear days, even Everest. The afternoon is yours to explore this cultural gem... whether hiking to Namobuddha, mountain biking, or strolling through traditional villages, all within easy reach of the capital.

We’ll have two host hotels for our time together in Nepal.

First, we’ll spend three nights at the gorgeous Hilton Kathmandu, located right in the city center close to Thamel’s renowned shopping, and Pashupatinath Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Durbar Palace. You’ll enjoy city and mountains views from the all-day restaurant, rooftop bar and outdoor pool.

Next, we’ll enjoy one night at the luxurious Dusit Thani Himalayan Resort, a tranquil oasis and spiritual sanctuary located at one of Buddhism’s most sacred pilgrimage sites. The resort’s captivating vistas of rolling hills and majestic mountains create a scenic canvas, making it the perfect place for our OUTbounders to relax and rejuvenate.
